August Report

LAKE CHRISTINE

Another excellent month on the specimen lakes.  Regulars Dave and Andy Wall banked four fish; Dave’s best a 24lb 8oz common while Andy landed a Pb mirror of 32lb.  Fishing companion Reg landed five fish, the best a 26lb 8oz common.  Brian Green banked three fish to 20lb 2oz (mirror), while Lynn Green landed two, the largest a Pb of 22lb.  James Green (11 years old) landed a 26lb 8oz mirror; all fell to mainline cell boilies.  Bob Mills and son, Ian, shared a sixty-five fish haul on their annual two-week trip.  Bob landed a best fish of 30lb 8oz mirror, with Ian’s best being a mirror of 32lb.  In all they landed twenty-two fish over 20lb, all fell to Premier Baits camos or mainline cell.  On a day trip Tim Hurst landed three fish to 26lb 40z on camos boilies.  Steven Young landed five fish to 28lb 4oz, all commons, to camos boilies.  Jim Hutton landed seven fish including the large common of 32lb, all to mainline cell.

LAKE PEPPER

Jason Browning landed seven fish, the best a 26lb mirror.  Kent McDonald landed a 26lb 1oz mirror on a pineapple pop-up.  Dan Vincent landed four fish to 23lb 6oz (common) to cell boilies.  Ian Ashdown landed six fish including three twenties, the best a 27lb 12oz mirror to camos boilies.  Local lake specialist Dave Wall in two separate overnight trips banked seven fish including four twenties, the largest a Pb mirror of 29lb 12oz.

ALDER LAKE

Paul Honey landed five carp to 14lb 1oz, plus a grass carp of 7lb 2oz.  Mark Taylor and Michael Noden banked eleven carp to 14lb (mirror), plus a 4lb 4oz tench to nutty corn boilies.  On a family night trip Wayne and Natasha Newing landed five fish to 12lb, while son Bailey (6 years) landed four fish to 8lb 5oz.

WINDSOR LAKE

Dave Bareham landed a 7lb 2oz tench, plus a 17lb 2oz mirror carp on luncheon meat.  Several good bags of carp falling to corn and meat with Kevin Mosely landing forty carp to 6lb.

MATCH LAKE and ELLIOTT LAKE

Most matches are being won with weights over 100lbs.  Dick Lawless won the latest match with 141lb of carp and crucians.  The latest round of the Browning Youth Masters was won by Dan Warman with 95lb, second was Tom Adcock with 88lb 4oz and in third place was Kevin with 50lb 12oz.  Both Dan and Tom qualify for the final on 30^th August at Cudmore Fisheries.

BLACK LAKE

Good bags of silver fish to pleasure anglers, mainly bream and skimmers.  Tench are still showing to 5lb on worm or pellet.
